The Madhouse Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy community is mourning the loss of Daniel Goetz, a beloved training partner, friend, and respected martial artist whose passing has left a profound void among teammates and loved ones.
In a heartfelt statement, the academy shared the deep sorrow felt by those who trained alongside him, describing Goetz as someone who had been part of the team since its earliest days. Over the years, he built strong bonds within the gym, earning admiration not only for his dedication to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu but also for his character and camaraderie.
Goetz was remembered as a “true martial artist,” someone who embodied discipline, respect, and passion both on and off the mats. His presence, teammates say, went beyond training—he was a friend who brought people together, shared laughs, and created lasting memories within the Madhouse community.
The academy noted that his absence will be deeply felt, emphasizing that words fall short in capturing the impact he had on those around him. In tribute, teammates have pledged to continue training in his honor, ensuring his legacy remains part of the gym’s spirit.
In a personal and touching remembrance, friends reflected on Goetz’s personality, recalling that he would want them to celebrate life in his own way—sharing a drink and listening to music he loved.
Visitation for Daniel Goetz will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home. The academy will cancel all classes that day in his memory.
