Case Wilson Georgetown, KY Obituary: Great Crossing Warhawks baseball team mourn the tragic loss of beloved player

The Georgetown community is mourning the loss of 16-year-old Case Allen Wilson, a student-athlete at Great Crossing High School and a member of the Great Crossing Warhawks baseball team, who passed away on March 22, 2026.

Born on October 25, 2009, Wilson was widely known among classmates, teammates, and teachers for his vibrant personality, sense of humor, and strong connections with those around him. His death has left a profound impact on the school community, particularly within the Warhawks baseball program, where he played center field.

Friends and teammates remember Wilson as a passionate and energetic individual who took pride in representing his team. Off the field, he had a wide range of interests, including gaming, anime, and Star Wars, often bonding with others over shared hobbies and unique conversations.

According to those who knew him, Wilson was intentional in his relationships and made a lasting impression through his kindness and authenticity. He was known for encouraging others to be themselves and for ending conversations with the words, “I love you,” a habit that many now say reflects the compassion he showed throughout his life.

He is survived by his mother, Lara Wilson; father, Billy Wilson; and sister, Braylee McMath, as well as extended family members and numerous friends.

A visitation and celebration of life service are scheduled for Saturday, March 28, at Grace Christian, with Jimmie Roper officiating. Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by the service.

As tributes continue to pour in, Wilson is being remembered for the joy and positivity he brought to others, both on and off the field. His passing marks a significant loss for his family, friends, teammates, and the broader Georgetown community.
